Description

Our First Pick Reserve Coffees represent the highest tier of specialty-grade coffee we offer.

In partnership with JNP Coffee, this Burundi coffee is a specialty-grade offering, roasted to a light-medium profile to highlight the coffee bean's natural sweetness, complexity, and distinctive flavors.

Ntwari II is a natural process coffee shaped by courage, resilience, and the quiet power of stepping forward.

Sourced from the Muyinga province of Burundi at elevations around 1,600 - 1,700 meters, this fully washed lot reflects both the richness of the land and the strength of the person behind it. After losing her husband, the producer behind Ntwari stepped into the coffee world in a space that has long been male-dominated. Through persistence, learning, and partnership, she not only built her place within it, but began creating opportunities for other women to rise alongside her.

This coffee carries that story in a way that feels steady and composed in the cup.

In the roast, Ntwari II expresses a clean, structured profile with a gentle brightness up front -notes of citrus and soft fruit - followed by a honeyed sweetness that rounds everything out. The body is light and tea-like, with a silky texture that allows the flavors to unfold slowly. As it cools, the cup becomes more expressive, revealing subtle layers of fruit and a refined, lingering finish.

We approached this coffee with a lighter touch in the roast, focusing on preserving clarity and balance rather than pushing it too far. The result is a cup that feels intentional - delicate, but not fragile.

At Bisbee Coffee Company, coffees like this remind us that every cup is connected to something deeper. Not just origin, but people, choices, and moments of change that shape what we experience.
